Franz Glatzl
Welcome to Franz Glatzl on line studio Franz Glatzl is a painter of marine art who was born in Vienna, Austria. At the age of fourteen he left for Hamburg in Germany and enlisted on different ships in years to come. After many trips around the world he settled down in Gothenburg, Sweden, and later he moved to Käringön, an island on the westcoast of Sweden. His sensitive paintings of nature alter from stormy weather to a sea in stillness in both oil and water colours. On sail cloth from Viking, a sailingvessel built in 1906, he exposes his capacity to paint both poetically and vigorously.
